THE CHOPPING BLOCK

NBN, 7.30PM

FROM the makers of The Block comes this restaurant equivalent of a WWF SmackDown!

Hosted by Catriona Rowntree, pictured, The Chopping Block sees two restaurants go head to head each week for a chance to win some cold hard cash.

Created by overhaul kings David Barbour and Julian Cress (they also breathed some life into Celebrity Overhaul and Celebrity Circus), the series is filmed in Sydney and Melbourne, where two local restaurants try to impress the secret food critic and get their garlic-scented fingertips on the cash.

But it wouldn't be a Barbour and Cress show without some sort of overhaul.

SPICKS AND SPECKS

ABC, 8.30PM

THEY'RE baaaack. Adam Hills, Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough return for another year of fun, music trivia and gags.

It's only when you see them back on the box that you realise how much you have missed them during the non-ratings period.

In this series return Myf is joined by the bass player for Pink Floyd and Roxy Music, Guy Pratt, along with comedian Cal Wilson.

Alan Brough teams up with former Australian Idol Guy Sebastian and comedian Dave O'Neil.

LITTLE BRITAIN ABROAD

ABC, 9PM

SPAIN, Paris, Thailand and America should watch their backs.

Because the Little Britain gang is leaving the London chill behind for an overseas Christmas holiday.

No continent is safe.
